AI translations overview
Translate your help center into multiple languages using AI. Visitors can read your articles in their preferred language using the language picker on your help center. You can customize translation behavior with per-language instructions and glossary mappings.
What Gets Translated
Article titles and content
Collection names and descriptions
Help center headers, footers, and SEO settings
API reference content
Widget labels and UI strings
Your original content stays unchanged. You can manually edit any translation if needed.
Translation output is guided by your glossary and any per-language translation instructions you have set. The AI preserves code blocks, technical terms, and product names, and uses your glossary mappings when they exist.

Supported Languages
English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, and Turkish.
The number of languages you can add depends on your plan. Startup includes 2 languages, Scale includes 5, and additional languages cost $10 each. Enterprise includes everything in Scale. See Ferndesk pricing and plans for details.
Managing Translations
Go to Help Center > Translate to:
Toggle languages on or off
Retranslate all content
Set per-language translation instructions
Manage glossary terms and language-specific mappings
New articles are translated automatically into your enabled languages. Translations appear shortly after publish, not instantly. Any translations you've manually edited are preserved. Changing glossary terms or translation instructions can trigger fresh translations of existing content because the system includes that context in translation hashes.
You can also edit collection translations directly from the collection editor. See How to edit collection translations for details.
How Visitors See Translations
Your help center includes a language picker. Visitors select their language and all content displays in that language.
