Configuring Your Notification Settings

Notification settings control how Ferndesk alerts you when tasks complete. You can receive email notifications, browser push notifications, or both.

Find notification settings by clicking Settings in the sidebar, then selecting Notifications.

Email Notifications

Email notifications send you an email when Fern completes a task.

Toggle Receive email notifications when tasks are completed on or off. Your preference saves automatically.

Email notifications are enabled by default.

Browser Push Notifications

Browser push notifications appear as system alerts on your device, even when Ferndesk isn't open.

To enable:

  1. Toggle Receive browser push notifications when tasks are completed

  2. Click Allow when your browser prompts for permission

If you previously denied notification permissions, update them in your browser settings before the toggle will work.

Managing Devices

The Subscribed Devices section shows which devices receive push notifications. Click Remove next to any device you want to unsubscribe.

Troubleshooting

Push notifications not working?

  • Check browser notification permissions for app.ferndesk.com

  • Verify you're not in Do Not Disturb mode

  • Confirm your device appears in Subscribed Devices

Email notifications not arriving?

  • Check your spam folder

  • Verify the email toggle is enabled
